Assateague Beach

While Fall is my favorite time of year, give me a couple like Mel & Logan and I will withstand the summer temps any day of the week, all year round. Assateague

There was one session I was hoping to shoot before bidding summer goodbye for another year - a couple with their Jeep on the beach. To say my expectations were far exceeded is a major understatement. Oh and extra bonus points for these two hotties who got down to their bathing suits and played in the water at the end. With only a week's notice not only was Mel and Logan fully onboard, but also Bleached Butterfly - who knocked the idea of stringing greenery over the Jeep completely out of the park, Fathom of Berlin - they gave her the cutest summery beach dress to wear just for the shoot, AND Blushed Beauty Studio - Jackie took my beachy hair vibes way beyond what I was hoping for with a complete mini make-over. I am beyond thankful to have had these incredibly talented ladies on my team!! Could not have done it without each of you!

As you may notice, I am and always will be open for a little adventure - and absolutely any and everything out of the box!

Maci: Will you go to North Carolina to Tucker's cattle farm?

Katie: YES!!!

Maci and Tucker Met in college in North Carolina. Maci returned home to Maryland to finish her second degree in Nursing and Tucker stayed to continue to grow his business - he raises Registered Red Angus Cows. See why they are in a pasture full of cows now? Cute, huh? But not half as cute as these two. And what's even cuter is that I kind of sort of met/ran into these two at a wedding last Fall, and Maci and Tucker got engaged the very next day!! The same day as her brother (who I can tell she adores)!!! How sweet is that?!

Tucker takes us to his "office" and let me tell you. The rolling hills, the long bumpy dirt lane and wide open views. It's an office I'd never grow tired of staring at. While the cows were pretty intimidating, they were equally entertaining. One was jumping all around and the others were so interested in what was going on. They kept inching closer and closer to Maci and Tucker. It's comical in hind site.

And while they may have a long distance relationship, it was very easy to see that the two make up for all lost time when they are together. And I think that's all that really matters! Oh and next year they will wed on Maci's Dad's farm in Maryland and if it's ANYTHING like their engagement session, it will be one really good day!

Home. It's your safest place on Earth, a sanctuary. The place that you share your happy, sad and every other memory in between. The place you long to be after a long trip or several hours on the job. Where your story begins and ends each day - and even if it's not your 'forever home' it is part of your story. It's my favorite place to document all things love.

And home is where Hayley and Stefhan chose to hold their engagement session. The ease they had of just being there was comforting in its own. Even though I had never met them in person until this day, I was able to learn so much about them beyond what they could have ever told me over the phone. Stefhan is a talented woodworker who has made several pieces for their home. Hayley is a lover of Target (like myself) who has amazing taste and style. The chandelier hanging over her dining table was the cutest thing I've seen! My favorite memory of their session is when the two randomly broke out in dance in the middle of their living room. And I could tell it was something that had happened there a few times before. Being able to add to the story that those four walls will tell was priceless.

In the words of Joanna Gaines, "I love me some home."
