Five ways to wear and style a white button-down for Spring

As you may know by now I am working on a Spring capsule wardrobe and am so excited to share the final results with you SOON. For now, I have broken it down into how can I style one shirt four to five different ways, as this is the gist of a capsule wardrobe. Naturally I wanted to begin with a classic - a white button down. They can be dressed up and dressed down and not only are they good for the Spring, but also every other season including Summer (thinking bathing suit cover up). Am I challenging myself to a year round capsule??

First, a more recent style that I have loved.. a white button down with leggings. This brings comfort to a whole other level, because leggings are always a good idea. And you cannot go wrong with a black and white combo.

Second, the more popular style. A white button down with holey jeans. This can be worn with sneakers or with mules, but I chose to tuck the front all the way in with a belt and throw on my favorite black heels for a date night look.

Third, when those temps finally reach over 70 degrees - a white button down with biker shorts. I would also pair this with a black baseball hat or I would even add a pop of color to my outfit this way. Did I just say I would actually wear colors?! Who am I! PS this is my absolute favorite.

Fourth, trousers. They are comfy (are you spotting a trend here) and cute. Again, this could be worn with mules or some open toe camel or tan sandals. Hellooo pedicure appointment! Because IYKYK.

Last, but not least, jean shorts and a button down. White shirts and jeans never, ever go out of style, or at least I hope not. You can add a crossbody bag (formerly known as a fanny pack) or a straw hat and we are ready to roll!

Now that I've thought of five different ways to wear one shirt this Spring I am excited to continue to do that with other pieces and build a wardrobe that I can rotate through over the next couple of months. I would love to hear which style is your favorite? Comment below!
